Get ready to ignite creativity and build classroom community with a year-long poetry adventure! Each week (or two), your students will be given a fun “poetry recipe” that challenges them to experiment with new devices, kind of poem, and styles. They’ll draft, share, and perform their poems in a cozy poetry slam atmosphere! Make it complete with a stool, spotlight lamp, and plenty of snaps from their peers!

The class will vote on their favorite poems, which will be collected throughout the year into a beautifully bound Poetry Recipe Book that every student takes home as an end-of-year gift. 

This project not only strengthens writing skills and confidence but also fosters a love for words and creative expression that lasts well beyond the classroom.
